The ROOT project was presented at AED Days 2026, one of Portugal’s leading events for the aeronautics, space and defence sectors, held from 27 to 29 May at the Estoril Conference Centre.
Represented by Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), coordinator of the project, ROOT was featured in the event’s exhibition area, where participants had the opportunity to learn more about the initiative and its objectives. Throughout the three-day event, the IPN team engaged with companies, research organisations, public authorities and other stakeholders interested in skills development and workforce challenges across technology-intensive sectors.
AED Days 2026 brought together national and international actors from the aeronautics, space and defence ecosystems through a programme combining conferences, thematic forums, networking activities and an expanded exhibition area. The event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase projects addressing innovation, competitiveness and future workforce needs.
Alongside its services supporting industry quality and certification requirements, IPN promoted ROOT and its mission to strengthen career guidance and increase adult participation in training within the downstream Earth Observation sector. The event also offered an opportunity to raise awareness of the project among organisations that may contribute to future stakeholder engagement activities and the development of project outcomes.
Participation in AED Days 2026 forms part of ROOT’s ongoing dissemination and stakeholder engagement efforts, helping to connect the project with relevant actors across innovation ecosystems and to foster dialogue around skills, training and career pathways in emerging technology sectors.
